Metal Pressings, progression capability
Multiforms and the wider Rical Group have a very sound history when it comes to the manufacture and supply of Progression Metal pressings or Progressive metal Stampings and for many years have been a first choice supply route for mid to high volume metal pressings manufactured by the progression metal pressing method.
The
Progression process of metal pressing or stamping can be easily defined or
described as follows:
Raw material or coil material progresses through the press tool stations (or
stages) at each stage the press tool performs one or many operations to
gradually produce the finished component, the final stage is a cut off
operation, which separates the finished part from the carrying web. The
carrying web or coil along with metal that is punched away in previous
operations, is treated as scrap.
Since additional work is done in each "stage of the press tool, it is
important that the strip be advanced very precisely as it moves from station to
station, conical pilots enter previously pierced round holes in the strip to
assure alignment since the feeding mechanism usually cannot provide the
precision in feed length. Multiforms prides itself in the range of progressive
metal pressings it is able to offer and components are used within Automotive, electronics
and many
other applications where precision and exacting tolerances combined with
high volume production requirements are demanded by the customer.
